We have found when using frozen semen, a
surgical AI greatly enhances the bitch’s ability to get pregnant, and also
increases the litter size.
While a surgery sounds scary the procedure
is actually very simple.
When your bitch comes in season, we do a
series of blood progesterone tests to determine when your bitch ovulates. When
we pin point the day of ovulation we can then determine when to do the AI.
The surgery is preformed with exact timing
and precision.
The incision is only about three to four
inches long. The semen is thawed and then injected into each of the uterine
horns. The incision is then closed and we wait until your bitch wakes up, and
is ready to walk out of our office on her own. The whole process takes less
then 1 hour.
